A.J. Emms Rebounds with Top-Five at Flamboro Speedway

HAMILTON, Ontario —- After seeing his night end early a couple weeks ago, A.J. Emms came back stronger this past weekend with a top-five finish at Flamboro Speedway.

Emms was fast from the start of the night, finishing second and third in his qualifying heats.

Starting the feature from the outside of the front row, he would take the top spot off the initial green, leading the field till the race’s lone caution at Lap 8. He Emms got a good restart to keep the lead, stretching out his gap on the field a little. However, that wouldn’t last long, as the field began to close the gap right back to him over the long green flag run. By Lap 18, there was no gap as John Harper got alongside him for the top spot, taking the lead on Lap 22. Battling an ill-handling condition, Emms was unable to hold off the string of cars right behind, fading back to fifth.

Once he fell back, though, he’d find a comfortable spot in line and was able to solidly balance dealing with the ill-handling condition and lap traffic to cross the finish line in fifth.

The OSCAAR Modifieds will be back in action at Peterborough Speedway on August 4 with event details are located at https://www.peterboroughspeedway.com. In his last appearance there, Emms scored a runner-up finish to Gary McLean.
